Gem show...great for networking and inspiration...

So today was a great day for RSO... we went to our first big gem show. It was a great place to meet contacts and find some really unusual components. So we'll be busy contacting all of our great new contacts in the coming week to work on networking and cross promotional opportunities.

There were so many stories the vendors knew about the origin of the beads... from the far reaches of the world... it will most certainly help the creative process.

Other than that, it's a great place to hand out cards and show off some of our favorite pieces.

Can't wait to go to the next one!

Is that you over there in that chair?

Jewelry making and colors and textures and metals and tools are awesome... as is staring longingly into the windows of a perfect storefront, sketching mental pictures of the future... but those things alone don't make the business. There's always a need to update or revamp the website... product descriptions, sales trending, branding, purchasing and billing... paying bills... hearing the computer proclaims zero hours night after night. All of it is necessary and beneficial and quite frankly... tiring. Steps forward and back and forward and back... but here's the kicker... Over there across the desk, or in the chair across the living room at midnight is the motivation. The desire to move forward. Each other. And for that... I guess we'll happily press on... :)

We've been doing some exciting things with found objects lately. Adding to the new with old not only produces beautiful results it creates a layer of comfort to the pieces... history. I liken it to a favorite concert t-shirt... no matter what you put on with it, you feel good. Like you. Some of these new pieces feel like that to me. Beauty and comfort all in one. New Year, New Creations, and Renewed Strength!

Hey everyone! Its a new year, and we wanted to keep saying "Thank You" to everyone that supports us in our endeavor. We're definitely expanding the scope of our work and designs this year. We've already begun working more with various metals and have begun welding and soldering, in order create even more unique and specialized designs. The picture here is just one of many new metal ring designs we're working on and is made of sterling silver and gold filled.

In this way we can offer the best that RSO has to offer, and still express our appreciation for the beauty, and skill often shown in the work of many artists out there.

The third change we're making will be offering, not only our finished products on our site and ebay store, but adding a section for jewelry making supplies and related products, on both. We feel that, by immersing ourselves in our craft completely, we can expand our creativity in ways not previously realized, and may help other potential artists out there find their paths as well.
